In 2015, I founded Southwest Piano Festival in my hometown of Albuquerque, NM to share the stage and build a performing platform for up-and-coming New Mexican pianistic talent. I shared the inaugural concert with my friend and colleague, composer-pianist Colin Martin, who has subsequently performed world premieres at every festival. From these humble beginnings, SPF has grown to its current 3-concert format during the first weekend in August. Highlighting the wealth and breadth of solo- and duo-piano repertoire, all SPF concerts are free and open to the public. Donations are always accepted, and all proceeds go to the artists. Our performance space is graciously offered by the New Mexico School of Music and its founder Tatiana Vetrinskaya. We hope you will join us in coming seasons to celebrate the piano and your local performers!
